Q: Where is Bim Bam Boo made?

We manufacuture our products in China. Historically speaking, the Chinese are bamboo pulping experts. Their use of bamboo as an alternative fiber goes back almost 5,000 years, and their lands are home to rich bamboo resources (including the fastest growing varieties).

Bim Bam Boo has forged manufacturing partnerships with some of China’s best factories. Not only are they on the cutting-edge of alternative-fiber manufacturing, but they believe in humane practices for both their employees, and the earth. Certifications include:

  • FSC Certified (Forest Stewardship Council)
  • Elemental Chlorine-Free (ECF)
  • ISO 9001 (Quality Mangement)
  • ISO 14001 (Environment Management System )

Q: How is it sourced?

Our bamboo is harvested from a privately owned grove, located on the same grounds as our paper plant (this eliminates added carbon-costs for transportation of materials)

Q: Are you taking bamboo away from pandas?

The species of bamboo we source for our bamboo products is NOT a food source for panda bears. We love pandas, and want to make sure these cute-fuzzy-clumsy guys are around a long time. But just to prove it, our products are certified by FSC -- which includes stringent guidelines protecting endangered species and their habitats.

Q: Does your production facility have 3rd party certifications?

Sure thing! Certifications include:

  • FSC Certified (Forest Stewardship Council)
  • Elemental Chlorine-Free (ECF)
  • ISO 9001 (Quality Mangement)
  • ISO 14001 (Environment Management System )

Woo recycling!! Our plastic packaging (found at grocery retailers) is made out of a soft-plastic (LDPE 4) and our individually tissue- wrapped rolls are recyclable in municipalities that accept tissue paper and #4 plastics.

Q: Is your packaging recyclable?

You betchya. We wouldn't dare cut down a new tree to make our rolls -- as we say, "they're good to their core!" Feel free to recycle these cores, or checkout some of our fun upcycling projects on Pinterest!

Q: Are your toilet paper cores recycled? Are they also recyclable?

Bim Bam Boo is totally compostable. Made of all-natural bamboo fibers, it will quickly dissolve back into the earth. It is safe for all disposal systems including composting toilets and septic.

Q: Is Bim Bam Boo paper compostable?

We use hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to whiten our paper products. This eco-alternative to bleach can be recycled into the farmlands, as it turns back into water (H20) once the manufacturing process is complete.

Q: How do you whiten your paper? Is there any chlorine bleach used?
